I wanted a new hairstyle, and wasn't too sure of what I wanted, so I found that this place was one of the best recommended salons in the area, so I decided to give it a shot. It was my first salon experience and I'm an Asian guy, and I normally just buzz cut my hair. It was growing out and I wanted to try something different. To say I had a great experience is an understatement. This place is awesome, they make you feel at home, and I honestly left feeling that my hair got a celebrity makeover. Brooke did a superior job, and I'm definitely coming back. This place listens to you, and does exactly what you want, and more. Definitely recommend this salon!!!
Fabulous experience from the moment I walked in the door! I got my hair butchered earlier in the day and came to Lava Hair Studio fully expecting they would have to chop off my long hair just to fix it. Brooke did an amazing job of blending it to hide the hole while keeping the length. Even though it was a "fix" job, it's been years since I've had this nice of a cut! Brooke really listened to what I wanted and was a delight!
I just moved to Georgia, and I was nervous about finding a new hair stylist. My wedding is coming up, and I knew that I would not have time to grow my hair back out if it was a botched cut. The people there were so nice. Upon arrival, I got a cup of tea, and even though I was early, they didn't make me wait. The cut was extremely reasonably price, and included a shampoo, condition, massage, and blow dry. Ricki was so nice and he made me completely comfortable. He used high quality products, but didn't try to force me to buy them. I am so happy with my cut and with the entire experience!!!!

I am a bit disappointed with the attitude and service received. I had been a customer for more than 8 months, and scheduled without a problem a cut and color. On most visits, I was spending $100+ for goods and services. My last visit, and I do mean MY LAST VISIT, it looks as if my stylist was triple booked or something. I was there for an hour and half, and the assistant, who I could not say even has a license, colored, washed, and massaged me. My stylist was finally able to give me 10 minutes of her time, and of that she was rushed. She cut the ends, with no layers, or any technique, trimmed my bangs, which I had to ask for, blow dried, and combed me out, then pretty much sent me out the door with strands hanging in face. Then had to audactiy to sell me product. When the receptionist asked me if I wanted to leave my stylist a tip that was the final straw. While the receptionist did try to make it right with a gift certificate for dollars off a future visit. It still rubs me a little raw. For the most part Lava is a really nice upscale salon, and the Aveda concept/products are wonderful, but I am not a fan or supporter of spending this much money on services provided by assistants.
